Celebrating: Where’s Wally’s 30th Anniversary and Dr Seuss’s 60th Anniversary

As part of Literacy Week there is a dress up day to come as your favourite book character.

Who’s your favourite book character and why? My favourite  book character is Mary Anne from the Baby Sitters Club. The reason she is my favourite is because she's kind, caring, helpful and never gives up, and will always find away to solve a problem. She doesn't necessarily look like me, but she has a similar personality.

Athletics 2017

1. How well did I use a growth mindset to stay positive when the competition got tough? when I was doing sprints I could see that I was coming last so I ran my fastest to try and catch up.

2. Did I manage to achieve my athletics goals and why/why not? I manged to achieve one of my athletics goals which was to jump further in long jump and I succeeded.

3. In what ways did I represent my House well in the competition? by listening what to do and I got pozi's

4. What did I do well and how do I know? I did well at long jump because I jumped further than last year.

5. what was challenging and how do I know? in high jump I ran up and I would stop because I was to scared to jump

6. what am I most proud of and why? my long jump because I jumped further than last year.

1. I have shown empathy by when my friend hurt herself I could feel what she was feeling.
2. When my friend was stuck I could feel what she was feeling.
3. When my friend Bella was leaving schools I decided to make a card and get everyone to sign it.

1.I have communicated by sharing my ideas.

2. I have communicated with my friends when they’ve needed help.

3.When my friends are stuck and not knowing what to do. I will help them.

Oakland School Learner Qualities Be Self Aware (Excellence Value): SML tasks

What is my learning goal? IALT manage my time well so I complete all my “MUST Do” SML Tasks each week

What has been going well? I have been achieving my 20 points each week without fail and sometimes I get more than 20.

What have I been learning to do to get the tasks done? By working by myself, so I don’t get distracted.

Which tasks have I completed well?  Why? My blogging because it's one of the first sml tasks I do and I don’t get distracted.

Which tasks have been challenging?  Why? The task once you have finished you spelling tests because they take more time than other SML tasks.

What are some other bonus tasks I would like to do? I would like to do art.

My next step is…….. To try and get my work done without distraction.
